Overview
The flash head has manual zoom settings for "wide" (35mm focal length on a 35mm camera), "normal" (50mm) and "tele" (105mm), as well as a slide-in diffuser lens for "super wide" (28mm).
Yes, I said manual -- no zoom head motor to break or suck battery juice -- just grab the head and slide it back and forth using the click-stop detents at the three settings. There's a little wobble as it slides, but the movement is smooth enough and the stops firm. But the slot at the front of the flash it slides into holds it well and can also be used to insert cut-gel filters easily and safely.

Vivitar Digital Camera Problems
Common Vivitar digital camera problems are with the batteries. The batteries seem to wear down faster, but if you use rechargeable batteries, you will eliminate this problem. Some software programs are also noted with the Vivitar digital cameras. The problems are small and can be corrected with some good advice from the manufacturer. The other problem with this make camera is the driver needed for your computer. However, many sites now carry the free drivers for download. This would not be a big problem since you can find the driver online. It seems that the problems with the Vivitar are minimal.
A few other Vivitar digital camera problems are with the USB cable. It is very short and could be a bit longer.
